RAWALPINDI  President Dr. Arif Alawi has said that precautionary measures can prevent the spread of thalassemia, every possible step will have to be taken for the thalassemina surge, The Prime Minister has also made the health sector a top priority, the health budget has been increased, everyone has to play its role to make Pakistan green and clean.
He expressed these views while addressing the 14th National Thalassemia Conference & Workshop on Thursday. The President said that every possible step must be taken for the Sadbah chapter of Thalassemia. We have the example of Iran in the prevention of thalassemia. The Prime Minister has also given top priority to the health sector.
Increased budget for health sector has not been reduced.

He said that there are one lakh patients with thalassemia in Pakistan. Working for the welfare of Thalassemia patients is a good practice. The President said precautionary measures can prevent thalassemia. Measures will be taken to benefit Thalassemia patients in the community. President Malik said that awareness campaign in the society can control thalassemia disease. Its implementation is more important than the law. Measures should also be taken to prevent hepatitis. It is our duty to make Pakistan lush and clean. For this we need to play our role.
